GWS Young Professionals Group
The Golden West Section (GWS) of the Air & Waste Management Association sponsors a Young Professionals Group (YPG) within our section. The purpose of the Group is to foster a sense of community and support for up-and-coming air and waste management professionals in the Bay Area and throughout Northern California.
While the GWS still encourages continued interaction between all of our members, it is our hope to get more young professionals in the Bay Area involved and engaged in our industry, as well as our organization. GWS-YPG will be spearheaded by Daniel Hooper, a young professional and new member of the GWS Board of Directors.
A few objectives of the Group are to:
- Host regular local Happy Hours and other social events to enable young professionals in our field meet each other and enjoy networking opportunities in a casual setting;
- Provide a strong information network concerning current air and waste management events;
- Serve as a source of potential career opportunities; and
- Provide peer mentorship to one another.
