East Bay Student Dinner Meeting
- Dr. Whendee Silver, Professor of Ecosystem Sciences, Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management, University of California at Berkeley
Dr. Silver will speak about the Marin Carbon Project, currently underway in the Bay Area, for which she is the lead scientist. The Marin Carbon Project is investigating the potential for specific land management practices to enhance sequestration of atmospheric carbon dioxide as organic matter in rangeland and agricultural soils in California.
This program is designed to introduce undergraduate/graduate students to student programs sponsored by A&WMA, as well as provide students with interaction opportunities with environmental professionals from the local area. Registration fees paid by non-students will go toward supporting the Golden West Section's student programs. In addition, Dr. Silver's presentation will be of interest to environmental professionals in attendance.
