Director (2-Year Term), Ariana Husain
Ms. Ariana Husain was first introduced to the A&WMA Golden West Section (GWS) through the Young Professionals Program in which she helped organize a career panel for college seniors.  Since then, she has pursued her passion for the environmental field and joined the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) as an Air Quality Engineer.  She has worked in the field of Air Quality for five years and looks to increase her commitment to the environmental field in the years to come.  Having worked in both the private and public sector has given her unique insight into the way information is exchanged in the environmental community and has shown her how vital this exchange can be in key decision making.  This resonates strongly with the core purpose of the A&WMA, ‘… to improve environmental knowledge and decisions by providing a neutral forum for exchanging information.’  In addition to her current position with the BAAQMD, she is also a certified Greenhouse Gas Verifier and has worked as a lead on projects with the Business Council on Climate Change (BC3), an environmental non-profit.
